1 1/4 | Cup(c) | granulated sugar, sifted | |
3/4 | Cup(c) | cake flour, sifted | |
4 | Tablespoon(T) | cocoa | |
1 | Teaspoon(t) | vanilla |
Preparation
Beat egg whites, salt, and cream of tartar until the whites mixture stands in peaks. Gradually fold in sugar. Fold in very gradually, a tablespoon or two at a time, the sifted flour and cocoa mixture. Then gently add the vanilla. When well blended, pour into an ungreased tube pan and bake at 275 degree F for 30 minutes then increase temperature to 325 degrees F and bake 30 to 45 minutes longer.
