Recipe Description
This recipe was handed down to me from my aunt who used to make this bread in old coffee cans. I know that both my cousins and myself couldn't wait for autumn, as she made it every year.

Serves Tool

Serves To:USMetric
3 Cup(c)  flour
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  baking power
1 Teaspoon(t)  baking soda
2/3 Cup(c)  water
2 Cup(c)  pumpkin, cooked and mashed
1 1/2 Teaspoon(t)  salt
1 Teaspoon(t)  cinnamon
1 Teaspoon(t)  nutmeg
4   eggs
1 Cup(c)  oil
3 Cup(c)  sugar


Preheat oven 350 degrees.

Combine sugar, oil, eggs, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt. Beat well.

Add remining ingredients and mix well.

Pour batter into 2 loafs or 3 1lb. coffee cans, which have been greased.

Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Slide bread out of pans or cans and cool.
