Recipe Description
Pasta, mayonnaise, and a few extra ingredients make a nice salad without using a prepackaged mix. Fresh ingredients make it taste wonderfully refreshing. For variation, this is really good with small cubes of cheddar cheese added. You may want to double this recipe.

Ingredients

2 Cup(c)  dry small shell pasta
3   baby carrots, peeled and shredded
8 Ounce(oz)  very young peas, drained
1 Ounce(oz)  packet ranch dressing mix
2 Tablespoon(T)  real bacon bits
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  onion powder
2/3 Cup(c)  mayonnaise

Preparation

Bring water to a rolling boil in saucepan. Add the shell pasta and the shredded carrots and let them boil, uncovered for 10 minutes. Drain them into a strainer and rinse under cold water. In a medium sized bowl, mix together the peas, the entire packet of Ranch dressing mix, bacon bits, onion powder and mayonnaise. Add the pasta and carrots. Stir until everything is coated with the mayo mixture. Chill and serve.
