Banana Chocolate Chip Cake

Recipe Description
This moist cake,  is studded with flecks of chocolate. Bananas and chocolate are made for each other, cake is rich moist and decadent. Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting.

1 1/2 Cup(c)  semisweet chocolate chips
2 Teaspoon(t)  pure vanilla extract
2 Cup(c)  mashed bananas (4 to 5 medium-size bananas)
4   large eggs, at room temperature
2 1/2 Cup(c)  sugar
1 Cup(c)  unsalted buffer, at room temperature
1/2 Cup(c)  sour cream, at room temperature
2 Teaspoon(t)  baking soda
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  salt
3 Cup(c)  all-purpose flour


Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a cen13 x 9-inch baking pan.

Sift the flour and the salt together into a bowl, and set it aside.

Combine the baking soda and sour cream in another bowl. Stir well, and allow to stand for 5 minutes.

Cream the butter and sugar with an electric mixer on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Reduce the speed to medium and blend in the eggs, one at a time, blending well and scraping the bowl after each addition. Reduce the speed to low and add the flour mixture in three additions alternating with the sour cream mixture in two additions, beginning and ending with the flour. Blend in the mashed bananas, followed by the vanilla. Stir in the chocolate chips.

Scrape the batter into the prepared baking pan, and bake on the center oven rack until the cake springs back when touched and a cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean, 45 to 55 minutes. Allow the cake to cool in the pan set on a wire rack.

Additional notes

Rememeber to use butter wrapper to grease cake pan.


I have served this recipe three times and never had any leftovers ..Always been a crowd pleaser .
