Recipe Description
You can make this quick and easy applesauce and refrigerate what you don't use in a canning jar or bowl, as long as you keep it covered.

Ingredients

10   medium, unpeeled apples
1 1/2 Teaspoon(t)  cinnamon, ground
1/2 Cup(c)  white granulated sugar
1 Tablespoon(T)  fresh lemon juice
1/2 Cup(c)  low sodium water

Preparation

Wash, core, and chop the apples.  Combine the water, lemon juice and chopped apples in a medium cooking pot.  Bring to a quick boil over medium high heat, stirring often.  Reduce the heat to medium and continue cooking, stirring occasionally.  When the apples soften, add the sugar and cinnamon, and cook and stir for about 5 minutes.  Remove the pot from the heat and let it stand for 5 minutes, covered.  Serve the applesauce hot or cold.
