Braised Sweet And Sour Cabbage

Recipe Description
This is a deliciously sweet and tart side dish that is high in fiber and antioxidants as del as easy to prepare. A great dish for those who think they hate cabbage.

Ingredients

1   small sweet red apple, peeled and diced
2 Tablespoon(T)  sugar
1/2 Cup(c)  apple cider vinegar
1 Tablespoon(T)  sesame oil
1   head red cabbage, thinly sliced

Preparation

Heat a large deep skillet to medium heat. Add the sesame oil and the cabbage. Cook for a few minutes until cabbage is slightly soft. Add the apple, sugar and vinegar. Simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes until cabbage is soft. Season with salt and pepper and serve.

Not usually a fan of cabbage, I was served this dish at a friend's house and tried it out of courtesy. Good manners paid off, because this is a great cabbage dish. Guess I'm a cabbage convert, now.
