I guess that's what American cuisine is. Apple pie. I can't think of anything else. It seems like everything I make or eat originates from another country.

that's a good point about American being a melting pot, therefore, we're a mix of International cuisines. I think about a roast as the typical American family meal. It was a staple in my household growing up, and I'm sure in many others.

Tonight, I had forgotten to hit the grocery store, so I had to use what I had on hand. You guessed it - hot dogs! I ended up rolling them in those pillsbury crescent rolls and baking them. Easy and yummy! A tip, though - heat the hot dogs alone before rolling them into the dough. The heat from the hot dog will help cook the dough on the inside.

well, since America is a melting pot of races and cultures, it makes sense that our food is a mix of all kinds of things, too.
