1/2 | Cup(c) | shortening | |
1 | Cup(c) | sugar |
Preparation
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease bottom only of loaf pan with shortening. Cut apples into fourths, then core, peel and chop to measure 2 cups. Mix batter ingredients in large bowl with wooden spoon. Stir in until smooth (batter will be thick). Spread batter in pan. Mix apples, raisins and walnuts in small bowl, then sprinkle over batter. Bake 50 to 55 minutes, or until toothpick poked about 1 inch from center comes out clean. Immediately remove bread from pan to wire rack. Cool. Store bread tightly covered.
