Recipe Description
Slicing acorn squash into rings makes for a pretty presentation at your holiday table. Combined with apples and dusted with cinnamon, this side dish is a winter feast for the eyes and palate.

1   apple, cored and sliced
1   acorn squash (about 1/2 pound
1 Teaspoon(t)  maple syrup
1/4 Teaspoon(t)  cinnamon, ground
1 Teaspoon(t)  water


Preheat the oven to 375° F. Wash the squash, then slice it crosswise into 1/4 inch rings. Remove the seeds and pulp. Layer rings of squash and apple in a casserole dish, top with maple syrup, dust on the cinnamon, and sprinkle with the water. Cover and bake for about 30 minutes, until the squash is tender.
