Banana Bran Muffins With Cinnamon Sugar Topping

1 Cup(c)  natural bran
1 Cup(c)  all purpose flour
1/2 Cup(c)  whole wheat flour
1 Teaspoon(t)  baking soda
1 Teaspoon(t)  baking powder
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  salt
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  nutmeg, ground
3   large ripe bananas, mashed
2   eggs
2 Tablespoon(T)  brown sugar, packed
1/3 Cup(c)  vegetable oil
1 Teaspoon(t)  vanilla
1 Teaspoon(t)  cinnamon, ground
2 Tablespoon(T)  brown sugar, packed


Preheat oven to 375° F. In a large bowl, stir together bran, all purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. In a medium bowl, beat together bananas, eggs, brown sugar, oil and vanilla. Using a fork, stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Spoon into prepared muffin cups and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until tops spring back when lightly touched.
