Tubs of prepared butter cream frosting cost just about as much as this recipe, but you only get two cups per tub. And homemade tastes so much better!

1 Cup(c)  butter, softened
5 Cup(c)  powdered sugar
1 Pinch(pn)  salt
1 Teaspoon(t)  vanilla
5 Tablespoon(T)  light cream


In large bowl, beat butter until fluffy. Gradually add 1 cup powdered sugar, beating until fluffy. Stir in salt and vanilla. Then add remaining powdered sugar alternately with the light cream, until desired spreading consistency is reached. Fills and frosts two 9-inch cake layers, or frosts one 9 inch by 13 inch cake.
