1 Cup(c)  lentils
4 Cup(c)  water

Preparation

Rinse lentils under running water, and pick over to remove any stones or debris. Combine lentils and the 4 cups of water in medium saucepan and simmer gently with lid tilted for 30 to 45 minutes, or until lentils are tender. Drain off excess water before serving.
