Recipe Description
This simple dish can be molded into a variety of shapes to suit Black Fast.  It is traditionally served encircled by tart raspberry jam.

Ingredients

1 Quart(q)  water
1 Tablespoon(T)  sugar
1/2 Pound(lb)  long grain rice

Preparation

Wash 1/2 pound rice in three water cycles and remove any black grains that are in it.  Put rice into a quart of boiling water.  Boil for one hour.  Mix in one tablespoon of sugar.  Place rice mixture into a molded shape.  Moisten and allow mixture to set.  When stiffened, turn out and serve with raspberry jam around it.
