Ingredients

1 Cup(c)  low fat buttermilk
3/4 Cup(c)  low fat margarine
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  baking soda
1 Tablespoon(T)  low sodium baking powder
1/3 Cup(c)  sugar
3 Cup(c)  all purpose flour

Preparation

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and soda in a mixing bowl. Cut in margarine with a pastry blender until coarse crumbs form. Add milk, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. Shape dough into a ball and knead lightly 4 or 5 times. Preheat oven to 400° F. Roll out dough to 1/2 inch thickness on a lightly floured surface. Cut into rounds with a biscuit cutter and place on ungreased baking sheets. Brush lightly with milk. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
