Recipe Description
Cabbage with apples and tomatoes make an ideal side dish to pork recipes, such as pulled pork, or pork roasts.

1 1/2 Pound(lb)  cabbage, finely sliced
2   apples, peeled and shredded
2   tomatoes, quartered
1   onion, chopped
2 1/2 Tablespoon(T)  butter
2 Tablespoon(T)  instant flour
1 Pinch(pn)  salt, to taste
1/4 Teaspoon(t)  sugar


Boil the cabbage for about 10 minutes. Add the apples and the tomatoes, cook another 10 minutes. Brown the onions in 1 tablespoon butter. Add the rest of the butter and the flour. Fry, stirring till golden. Dilute with the liquid from the cabbage. Add to the cabbage, bring to a boil. Season with salt and sugar.
