Cedar Plank Salmon

Simple Salmon recipe that combines sweet and little spice.

2 Pound(lb)  salmon fillets with skin
1/2 Cup(c)  brown sugar
2 Tablespoon(T)  canola oil
1 Tablespoon(T)  thyme leaves
1 Teaspoon(t)  cayenne pepper
1   cedar plank


Before starting recipe soak cedar plank in water for 30 minutes.

Preheat a gas grill to high; adjust to medium low after 15 minutes. (If cooking over charcoal, allow the coals to burn until they are covered with white ash.)

Place the salmon skin-side down on the cedar plank. Combine the brown sugar, oil, thyme, and cayenne in a bowl.

Spread over the salmon.

Place the planked salmon on the grilling grate and cook, with grill covered, about 40 minutes or just until the surface fat begins to turn white.

Once complete take fish off of grill cover in foil for 5 minutes, plate and serve.

Additional notes

Can thinly slice lemon and place on top.

Yummy Salmon

This was so good! I cut back on the brown sugar a bit and added a little more cayenne for more of a kick.
