Recipe Description
I was first introduced to these rich decadent very buttery cookies at a church social. These are melt in your mouth cookies, that can never be too rich or too thin. These are just right, rich, thin and crisp.

Serves Tool

Serves To:USMetric
1 Cup(c)  semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 Cup(c)  pecans, chopped
3 Cup(c)  all purpose flour, sifted
1 Teaspoon(t)  pure vanilla extract
1 Cup(c)  light brown sugar, packed
1/2 Pound(lb)  margarine, at room temperature
1/2 Pound(lb)  unsalted butter, at room temperature

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Cream the butter, margarine, brown sugar and vanilla with an electric mixer on medium speed, scraping the bowl several times, until smooth and creamy, about 1 minute. Reduce the speed to low and blend in the flour just until incorporated. Then blend in the pecans. Stir in the chocolate chips. Using a melon ball scoop or a spoon, drop the dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing the cookies 1 inch apart. Bake, two sheets at a time, on the bottom third and top third oven racks, rotating the sheets from top to bottom and front to back halfway through, until they are golden brown around the edges, about 15 to 20 minutes. Let the cookies cool completely on the baking sheets set on a wire rack. Repeat with the remaining dough.
