Recipe Description
Shortbread cookies are a great old fashioned treat. This version has the sweet benefit of chocolate morsels added to the mix.

1 Cup(c)  butter
3/4 Cup(c)  brown sugar, packed
2 Cup(c)  all purpose flour
1 Cup(c)  miniature semisweet chocolate chips


Heat oven to 350°F. Mix butter and brown sugar in large bowl until well blended. Stir in flour. Stir in chocolate chips. Roll dough into 1 1/4 inch balls. Place about 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten to about 1/2 inch thickness, with greased bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until set. Cool slightly, then remove from cookie sheet.

Additional notes

Make all cookies on each cookie sheet the same size to ensure uniform baking. Mixing cookie sizes will cause some to be over baked or under baked.
