Trifles are British in origin. This easy version combines the rich taste of chocolate with espresso and fresh raspberries, an outstanding combination.

Ingredients

1/2   angel food cake
1/2   chocolate angel food cake
1/4 Cup(c)  coffee flavored liqueur
2 Package(pk)  sugar free instant vanilla pudding mix
3 Cup(c)  fat free milk
2 Teaspoon(t)  instant espresso powder
8 Ounce(oz)  fat free whipped topping
1/2 Cup(c)  pure fruit raspberry preserves
1 Pint(pt)  fresh raspberries

Preparation

Cut each cake into 8 slices. Cut each slice into 32 triangles. Arrange on a baking dish and brush triangles with liqueur. In a small bowl mix the pudding mix, milk and espresso powder for 2 minutes. Gently fold in whipped topping. Arrange cake triangles inside edge of 3 quart trifle bowl, standing upright to form tree shapes along the edges. Alternating, layer the remaining cake, pudding, raspberry preserves and raspberries in bowl, ending with fruit. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours.
