Ingredients

1 Teaspoon(t)  garlic powder
1 Pound(lb)  salt
3/4 Pound(lb)  rump roast
7 377/400 Gram(g)  tomato sauce
1/2   onion, chopped
1 Clove(clv)  garlic, pressed
2   italian seasoning
1   cinnamon stick
1/4 Teaspoon(t)  ginger, ground
1/2 Cup(c)  sweet red wine (optional)

Preparation

Rub the garlic powder and salt into the roast and let it sit for about 1/2 hour, coming to room temperature. Put your meat in a Dutch oven, cover with tomato sauce and all the other ingredients. Cover the pot and simmer for 90 minutes. Then turn your meat and simmer another 60 to 90 minutes, or until fork tender. Remove meat and allow it to cool before slicing. Skim the fat from pan. Once meat is sliced, return it to the pan and reheat with sauce.
