Recipe Description
This baked fondue is delicious, creamy and light.  The corn adds a surprise touch of sweetness.

Serves Tool

Serves To:USMetric
1 Cup(c)  milk
1 Cup(c)  canned corn, drained
1 1/2 Cup(c)  fresh breadcrumbs
1 Tablespoon(T)  butter, melted
1 Pinch(pn)  paprika, to taste
1 Pinch(pn)  salt, to taste
3   egg yolks, beaten
3   egg whites, beaten to stiff peaks
1 Cup(c)  cheddar cheese, grated
1 Pinch(pn)  pepper, freshly ground, to taste


Combine milk, corn, cheese, breadcrumbs, butter and seasonings.  Add beaten egg yolks.  Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.  Bake in a well buttered casserole in a 350 degree F oven for 1 hour, or until a Knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Additional notes

Variation:  Add 1 or 2 slices of crumbled cooked bacon, or 1/2 cup diced ham.
