Serve this pretty pink sorbet for a holiday brunch in keeping with the season.

1 Cup(c)  ginger ale
1 Tablespoon(T)  orange juice
1 Cup(c)  water
1 1/2 Cup(c)  sugar
12 Ounce(oz)  cranberries, fresh or frozen, washed and sorted


In a medium saucepan over medium high heat, stir together cranberries, sugar and water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium low and cook, uncovered, until berries begin to pop, about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool slightly. Transfer to a food processor or blender and puree until smooth. Transfer to a sieve over a deep bowl. With the back of a spoon, press mixture through the sieve (not all of it will go through). Add orange juice and ginger ale and mix well. Freeze in an electric ice cream maker according to manufacturer's directions. Transfer to another container and place in freezer. Remove from freezer 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
