Dutch "shellbark" And Raisin Cake

This old fashioned fruit and nut cake is delicious iced with vanilla icing, or a simple dusting of powdered sugar.

Ingredients

5   eggs
3/4 Cup(c)  butter
2 Cup(c)  sugar
1 Cup(c)  raisins
1 Cup(c)  milk
3 Cup(c)  flour
2 Teaspoon(t)  baking powder
1 Cup(c)  hickory nut meats

Preparation

Mix all the ingredients. Add the stiffly beaten whites of the eggs. Bake in layers in a 350 degree F oven for 3 minutes, or until cake tests cleanly with a toothpick.
