12   stalk rhubarb
3 Cup(c)  flour
1 Cup(c)  milk
1 1/2 Teaspoon(t)  baking powder
2 Tablespoon(T)  brown sugar
2 Tablespoon(T)  butter


Skin the rhubarb, cut into inch pieces, cook (in bake pan) slowly with one cup of water and brown sugar.

Then prepare batter, sifting the flour with baking powder and salt, and two tablespoons of butter, together with one egg, beaten, with milk enough added to form stiff batter.

Drop kitchen spoonfuls of batter into hot stewing rhubarb.

Then bake in oven for 20 minutes or so until golden brown.

Serve in individual dessert dishes, with hard sauce or vanilla sauce.
