Recipe Description
The special whole-wheat crust, with nuts and cheese added, makes this quiche extra good. Freshly cooked salmon is best, but you can also use canned salmon.

Ingredients

3 Ounce(oz)  vegetable oil*
1/4 Teaspoon(t)  paprika*
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  salt *
1/3 Cup(c)  slivered almonds*
3/4 Cup(c)  cheddar cheese*
1 Cup(c)  whole wheat flour *
1 Cup(c)  cooked salmon, flaked
3 Drop(dr)  tobasco sauce
1/4 Teaspoon(t)  dried dill weed
3   green onions, including some tender green tops, finely chopped
1/2 Cup(c)  grated cheddar cheese
1/4 Cup(c)  mayonnaise
1/2 Cup(c)  whole milk
1 Cup(c)  sour cream
1   large egg

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375°F. In a medium bowl, whisk together egg, sour cream, milk, and mayonnaise. Fold in cheese, green onions, dill, Tabasco sauce, and salmon. Pour into crust. Sprinkle reserved crust mixture on top. Bake until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean and top is golden brown, 40 to 45 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes. Cut into wedges and serve.

Crust

Preheat oven to 400°F. In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well. Set aside 1/2 cup for topping. Using fingers, press remaining mixture into bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie plate. To partially bake the crust, bake it for 10 minutes. Cool on a rack.
