Recipe Description
A little salt, a little pepper and a little sweetness from the onions, combines with the aromatic, clean flavor of red wine in sizzling steak juices.  It's easy to prepare and simply superb to eat!

2 Tablespoon(T)  butter
6   2 inch beef filet mignon steaks
6   small onions, peeled and halved
1 1/2 Cup(c)  red wine
1 1/2 Teaspoon(t)  salt
3/4 Teaspoon(t)  pepper, freshly ground


Preheat grill to 350 to 400 degrees F.  Sprinke fillets with salt and pepper.  Grill with covered lid for 3 to 5 minutes per side until brown on both sides.  Preheat large skillet on medium low heat.  Add steaks.  Add onion halves and wine.  Season again if desired with salt and pepper.  Cover with a tight fitting lid.  Simmer steaks 30 minutes or until desired degree of doneness.  Serve hot with cooked onions and some of the cooking juices, if desired.
