Recipe Description
I love a hearty brisket served with horseradish. Sharon introduced me to this fantastic recipe when my husband and I dined at her house. She serves it up spicy, just they way we like it.

48 Teaspoon(t)  water
1   large onion, diced fine
3 Pound(lb)  brisket
1/4 Teaspoon(t)  pepper, or to taste
1/4 Cup(c)  horseradish, or to taste
1/2 Cup(c)  sour cream
1/4 Teaspoon(t)  salt, or to taste


Place brisket in a large Dutch oven. Sprinkle onion, salt, pepper and water over brisket. Cover and cook for approximately 2 1/2 hours on medium heat, turning the brisket every half hour. Once cooked, remove from pot and slice thin. Mix sour cream and horseradish together. You will need to taste as to how hot or mild you want your horseradish sauce to be. Serve brisket with horseradish sauce.
