Serves Tool

Serves To:USMetric
1 1/2 Pound(lb)  flank steak
2 Tablespoon(T)  fresh ginger, minced
1   green onion, thinly sliced
3/4 Cup(c)  salad oil
1/4 Cup(c)  soy sauce
1 1/2 Teaspoon(t)  garlic powder
2 Tablespoon(T)  vinegar
3 Tablespoon(T)  honey

In a large bowl, stir together soy sauce, honey, vinegar, garlic powder and ginger.  Add oil and onion.  Place meat in a shallow dish and pour marinade over it.  Cover and refrigerate, turning meat occasionally, for at least 4 hours, or until next day.  Lift meat from marinade and drain briefly, reserving marinade.  Place meat on a grill 4 to 6 inches above a solid bed of medium hot coals.  Cook, turning once and basting occasionally with marinade, until done to your liking.  Cut to test, about 8 minutes for medium rare.  To serve, cut meat across the grain into thin slanting slices.
