Recipe Description
An easy stir fry meal that has all the flavor you expect from chow mein dishes in quality Chinese restaurants. This is one of my favorite recipes to serve when I want to surprise my family with something a little different for dinner.

1 Tablespoon(T)  oil
1 1/2 Pound(lb)  lean pork steak, cut into 1/4 inch slices
1 Cup(c)  carrots, sliced
1/2 Cup(c)  celery, diagonally sliced
1 Cup(c)  water
2 Tablespoon(T)  soy sauce
2 Teaspoon(t)  sugar
1 Teaspoon(t)  beef flavor instant bouillon
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  garlic powder
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  ginger root, grated
4 Cup(c)  fresh bean sprouts
1/2 Cup(c)  green onions, diagonally sliced
2 Ounce(oz)  sliced pimientos, drained
1/4 Cup(c)  cold water
2 Tablespoon(T)  cornstarch
24 Ounce(oz)  chow mein noodles


Heat oil in large skillet or wok over medium high heat until hot. Add pork. Cook and stir until browned. Remove pork from skillet and cover to keep warm. To liquid in skillet, add carrots, celery, 1 cup water, soy sauce, sugar, bouillon, garlic powder and ginger root. Mix well. Reduce heat to medium low, cover and simmer 4 to 5 minutes or until vegetables are crisp tender. Stir in cooked pork, bean sprouts, green onions and pimientos. Cook until thoroughly heated. In small bowl, combine 1/4 cup water and cornstarch. Blend until smooth. Gradually stir into mixture in skillet. Cook and stir over medium high heat until sauce is bubbly and thickened. Serve over chow mein noodles.
