When I lived in Chicago, Hana and I conducted some cooking classes together and shared ideas. This was a recipe she gave to me.

Serves Tool

Serves To:USMetric
1 Tablespoon(T)  salt
2 Teaspoon(t)  sugar
8 Cup(c)  flour
1 Cup(c)  warm water
2 Teaspoon(t)  sugar
1 Package(pk)  dry yeast
2 Teaspoon(t)  sugar


Preheat oven to 475° F. Place yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar in a small mixing bowl with 1 cup warm water. Let sit 5 minutes. Place flour, rest of sugar and salt in a large mixing bowl. Add yeast and knead. Remove dough from bowl, oil bowl and return dough to bowl. Cover and let rise 1 hour. Separate dough into 12 balls. Roll each flat. Let rise 5 to 10 minutes. Place flattened dough balls on cookie sheet. Bake in a 475° F oven for 5 minutes. Turn each over. Bake 5 minutes more.
