Recipe Description

Ingredients

1/2 Teaspoon(t)  pepper
3/4 Teaspoon(t)  salt
1 1/2 Teaspoon(t)  basil, dried
1/3 Cup(c)  dry red wine
6 Ounce(oz)  tomato puree
1/2 Cup(c)  parmesan cheese, freshly grated and divided
2   medium onions, chopped
1 Pound(lb)  lean ground beef
12 Ounce(oz)  cheese and spinach filled tortellini

Preparation

Prepare pasta according to package directions. Brown beef and onions in a large skillet over medium high heat for 10 minutes, stirring until meat crumbles and is no longer pink and onions are tender. Add 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, tomato puree and next 4 ingredients to beef mixture in skillet. Bring mixture to a boil over medium high heat. Reduce heat to medium low, and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes. Add prepared tortellini to skillet, tossing to coat. Sprinkle mixture with remaining 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, and serve immediately.
