On a hot summer day, there are few things more welcome on a table than an icy pitcher of homemade lemonade. Sure, you can buy a bottle at the store, but it just isn't the same.

Ingredients

4   lemons
3/4 Cup(c)  honey
2 Cup(c)  warm water
4 Cup(c)  cold water

Preparation

Wash 1 lemon well. Slice the lemon into rounds and remove the seeds. Put the lemon slices in a pitcher. Pour the honey and warm water over them. With a wooden spoon, stir the mixture until the honey dissolves in the water. Mash the lemon a few times to release the skin's flavors and some of the fruit's juice. Pour in the cold water. Juice the remaining 3 lemons. Each lemon should produce about 1/4 cup juice. Add the juice to the pitcher. Stir to combine. Chill the lemonade and serve over ice cubes. Garnish with mint sprigs, if desired.
