Recipe Description
This recipe was given to me by my good fried Josie.  I was served this at her home for dinner one evening, and positively loved it!

1/4   medium bell pepper, diced
1   medium carrot, diced
2 Teaspoon(t)  lemon juice
1/8 Teaspoon(t)  black pepper, fresh ground
4 Tablespoon(T)  celery, minced
1 Teaspoon(t)  salt
1 Clove(clv)  large garlic, crushed
1   bay leaf
1 Cup(c)  hot water
1 Tablespoon(T)  vegetable oil
1 1/4 Pound(lb)  flank steak


Trim away any visible fat from the steak.  Sear the steak in the oil over medium to medium high heat.  Remove the pan from the heat.  Place the steak in a casserole dish.  For extra flavoring, pour the water into the cooled skillet you seared the meat in, and stir.  Pour this over the meat, then add all the other ingredients.  Cook uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or longer if you prefer your meat well done.
