Lebanon Peach Shortcake

Recipe Description
This is an easy recipe to put together when you are hungry for something fresh and sweet. Many of the ingredients are probably already in your pantry, just begging to be thrown together.

Ingredients

1   egg
1 Cup(c)  milk
2 Cup(c)  flour
1 Pound(lb)  fresh peaches, peeled and halved
2 Tablespoon(T)  sugar
3 Teaspoon(t)  baking powder
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  salt
1/4 Cup(c)  shortening
1/4 Teaspoon(t)  cinnamon

Preparation

Sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt. Blend in the shortening, mix the egg and milk and add. Stir and put into greased pan. Layover the peaches, pealed and halved. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake in moderate oven.
