I had these brownies at a church potluck and got the recipe from my friend Libby 10 years ago. I have been making them ever since.

4 Ounce(oz)  sweet cooking chocolate
1/2 Cup(c)  margarine
1 1/2 Cup(c)  all purpose flour
1 Cup(c)  sugar
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  baking powder
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  vanilla
1/4 Teaspoon(t)  salt
2   egg yolks
1/3 Cup(c)  evaporated milk
2   eggs
1 Cup(c)  coconut, flaked
2/3 Cup(c)  pecans, chopped


Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease rectangular pan, 13 by 9 by 2 inches. Heat chocolate and margarine in 3 quart saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently, until melted. Remove from heat. Stir in remaining ingredients except coconut pecan frosting. Spread batter in pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely. Prepare coconut pecan frosting and spread on brownies. Mix sugar, margarine, milk, vanilla and egg yolks in 1 1/ 2 quart saucepan. Margarine will remain lumpy. Cook over medium heat about 12 minutes, stirring frequently, until thick. Stir in coconut and pecans. Beat until of spreading consistency.
