Biscuits are such a versatile side dish. Serve them with soups, sews, chili, salads, or for a traditional-style breakfast.

4 Cup(c)  all purpose flour
2 Tablespoon(T)  low sodium baking powder
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  salt
1/2 Cup(c)  low fat margarine
1 Pint(pt)  low fat buttermilk


Stir together the flour, baking powder and salt in a large mixing bowl. Cut in the margarine until coarse, and gradually pour in the buttermilk. Stir, then knead quickly to make a stiff dough. Do not over work. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Roll out dough to 1/2 inch thickness and cut into biscuits of the desired size. Bake for 18 minutes. The dough can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 6 hours after being cut.
