4   mint sprigs, for garnish
1 Cup(c)  ice cubes
1/2 Cup(c)  granulated sugar, or more to taste
1 Cup(c)  lemon juice, strained
3 Cup(c)  cold water


Mix water, juice, and sugar in a large pitcher. Stir until sugar is dissloved. Pour into glasses filled with ice cubes and garnish each with a mint sprig.

Additional notes

Variations: For limeade, substitute lime juice (you'll need about 10 limes) for the lemon juice, and increase the sugar to 3/4 cup. For pink lemonade, add 1 tablespoon grenadine syrup, or 1 teaspoon red food coloring.
