Recipe Description
The sweet flavor of maple is the surprise when biting into one of these cookies. The pecans add a bit of crunch to the medium texture of the dough base.

Ingredients

1/4 Teaspoon(t)  salt
1 Teaspoon(t)  baking powder
1 Cup(c)  pecans, chopped
1 1/2 Cup(c)  all purpose flour
1/4 Teaspoon(t)  maple extract
3/4 Cup(c)  margarine, softened
3/4 Cup(c)  brown sugar, packed

Preparation

Mix brown sugar, margarine and maple extract in large bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients. Shape into roll, 12 inches long. Wrap and refrigerate about 2 hours or until firm. Heat oven to 375°F. Cut roll into 1/4 inch slices. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack.
