Recipe Description
It's hard to imagine any Mexican meal without guacamole. Mom's recipe is a versatile base, where ingredients can be added to spice it up, if desired.

Serves Tool

1 Tablespoon(T)  lime juice
1/4   medium onion, coarsely chopped
1/4 Cup(c)  fresh cilantro, coarsely chopped
2   small avocados
1 Clove(clv)  garlic
1   jalapeno chile pepper, sliced and seeded
1   tomato, chopped
8 Ounce(oz)  tomatillos, peeled and rinsed
1 Pinch(pn)  pepper, to taste
1 Pinch(pn)  salt, to taste


In a food processor or blender, combine the tomatillos, onions, cilantro, chile peppers and garlic. Puree until smooth. Add the avocados and puree. Transfer to a medium serving bowl. Stir in the tomatoes and lime juice. Season with salt and black pepper, to taste.
