Recipe Description
You could add chopped nuts, raisins, or chocolate chips to these wonderfully tender, crumbly scones. Serve them warm from the oven with some honey and jam.

Ingredients

1 1/2 Cup(c)  all purpose flour
1/2 Cup(c)  whole wheat flour
2/3 Cup(c)  regular oatmeal
1/3   brown sugar
1 1/2 Cup(c)  baking powder
3/4 Teaspoon(t)  cinnamon
6 Tablespoon(T)  butter
2   eggs
6 Tablespoon(T)  evaporated milk
1 Tablespoon(T)  sugar

Preparation

Preheat oven to 400° F. Spray a cookie sheet with non stick cooking spray and set aside. In large bowl, combine both kinds of flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Cut in butter until particles are fine. In small bowl, combine eggs and 5 tablespoons evaporated milk and beat until smooth. Add to oatmeal mixture and mix until a dough forms. Shape into a ball, then press into a 9 inch circle on prepared cookie sheet. Cut dough into 8 wedges and separate slightly. Brush with remaining 1 tablespoon evaporated milk and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar mixed with 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until edges are golden brown. Serve hot.
