Recipe Description
Finish this cake with the light chocolate frosting or a buttercream frosting, depending upon yourpreference. You can also add chocolate morsels to the batter, if you like.

Ingredients

1 1/2 Cup(c)  all purpose flour
3/4 Cup(c)  whole wheat flour
2 Teaspoon(t)  baking powder
3/4 Cup(c)  smooth peanut butter
3/4 Cup(c)  butter
1 Cup(c)  sugar
3/4 Cup(c)  light brown or dark brown sugar, firmly packed
3   eggs
1 Cup(c)  milk

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350° F. Grease and flour two 8 inch round baking pans. In a large bowl or on a piece of waxed paper, stir together both flours and the baking powder. In a large bowl, cream the peanut butter, butter and both sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Add the dry ingredients alternately with the milk, beating well after each addition. Spread into prepared baking pans. Bake 40 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean and cake has pulled away from the edge of the pan. Turn onto rack to cool. Cut each layer in half horizontally to form 4 layers. Frost and fill with your desired frosting.
