Basic peas dish that goes great with just about any main dish. Feel free to throw in a slice of onion to add more flavor.

2 Quart(q)  tender english peas
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  pepper
2 Teaspoon(t)  salt
1 Tablespoon(T)  butter


Wash and remove the stems of the youngest and most tender English peas you can get. Be sure to keep the peas in their pods. Cook for an hour in boiling water to which the salt has been added. Then add the butter and pepper.

best tasting peas I've ever had! It takes some time, but it's worth the wait.
