Recipe Description
Here is a recipe perfect for utilizing all the summer vegetables growing in your garden. It makes about 8 pints of relish, so you'll be able to enjoy the flavors of summer, deep into the winter months.

Ingredients

8   large onions
1   medium head cabbage
10   green tomatoes
12   green peppers
6   red sweet peppers
1 Cup(c)  salt
6 Cup(c)  sugar
1 Tablespoon(T)  mustard seed
1 Tablespoon(T)  celery seed
1 1/2 Teaspoon(t)  turmeric
4 Cup(c)  vinegar

Preparation

Grind onions, cabbage, tomatoes and peppers. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Bring to a boil. Pour into jars and seal.

Additional notes

Variation: Grind vegetables. Add 3 Tbsp. salt, 1 cup vinegar, 3 cups sugar and 2 cups prepared mustard. Mix well and cook for 15 minutes, stirring constantly. Add 2 Tbsp. cornstarch and mix well. Remove from heat and stir in 1 quart mayonnaise. Pour into jars and seal.
