French toast doesn't have to be sweet! This savory dish is a good choice for a cold winter's night. And remember, breakfast dishes for dinner are inexpensive and filling.

1/2   loaf whole wheat french bread
3 Ounce(oz)  cream cheese, softened
1/4 Cup(c)  ricotta cheese
1 Tablespoon(T)  heavy cream
3 Ounce(oz)  pepperoni slices, chopped
1/4 Cup(c)  green onion, finely sliced
1/3 Cup(c)  milk
2   eggs
1/4 Teaspoon(t)  salt
1/8 Teaspoon(t)  pepper
1/4 Cup(c)  parmesan cheese, grated
2 Tablespoon(T)  butter
1 Tablespoon(T)  olive oil
1 Cup(c)  salsa


Slice bread into 1 inch slices. Cut a pocket in the side of each slice. In small bowl, combine cream cheese, ricotta cheese and cream and beat until smooth. Stir in pepperoni and green onion. Stuff bread with this mixture. In shallow bowl, combine milk, eggs, salt, pepper and Parmesan cheese until combined. In large skillet, melt butter and olive oil over medium heat. Dip stuffed bread pieces into egg mixture, turning once to coat. Then cook bread in skillet, turning once, until dark golden brown. Serve immediately with salsa.
