Recipe Description
This is an extremely simple and versatile frosting, perfect for topping any number of baked goods. Try it on cookies, cakes, gingerbread, plain loaves or Danish.

Ingredients

1 Cup(c)  evaporated milk
48 Ounce(oz)  powdered sugar, sifted
1 Teaspoon(t)  vanilla extract
1 Teaspoon(t)  almond extract
1 Teaspoon(t)  salt
2 Cup(c)  shortening

Preparation

Beat first 4 ingredients at medium speed with a heavy duty electric mixer until blended. Add powdered sugar alternately with evaporated milk, beating at low speed until blended after each addition. Beat at medium speed 8 minutes or until light and fluffy.

Additional notes

Frosting may be stored in refrigerator up to 2 weeks. If using a hand held mixer, prepare frosting in 2 batches.
