Recipe Description
In this recipe, rye flour replaces part of the all purpose flour. It's a great bread and it's almostfat free (most buttermilk is only 1% fat).

2 Cup(c)  rye flour
2 Cup(c)  all purpose flour
1 1/2 Tablespoon(T)  caraway seeds
2 Teaspoon(t)  salt, or to taste
1 Teaspoon(t)  baking powder
1 Teaspoon(t)  baking soda
1 3/4 Cup(c)  buttermilk


Preheat the oven to 400° F. In a large bowl, stir together both flours, caraway seeds, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Stir in the buttermilk until the mixture forms a ball. Knead on a lightly floured surface for several minutes. Form into an 8 inch ball. Place on a greased baking sheet. Cut an "X" in the top with a sharp knife. Bake 35 to 40 minutes, or until browned
