Ingredients

2 Cup(c)  all purpose flour
1/4 Teaspoon(t)  salt
8 Tablespoon(T)  white vegetable fat
3 Tablespoon(T)  iced water

Preparation

Sift the flour and salt into a large bowl. Add the fat and rub it into the flour with your fingertips until the mixture resembles fine bread crumbs and all the fat has been incorporated. Sprinkle most of the iced water over the mixture. Use a flat bladed knife or a fork to bring the mixture together, then use your hands to form the dough into a ball. If it is too dry to hold together, add a little more chilled water. Wrap the pastry in clear film (plastic wrap) and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Lightly knead the pastry on a floured surface, then roll to the desired shape and thickness using a floured rolling pin.
