3   large eggs
3/4 Cup(c)  milk
1/8 Teaspoon(t)  salt
4 Tablespoon(T)  butter
8 Slice(sli)  sourdough bread, sliced 1/2 inch thick


In pie plate, with wire whisk, beat eggs, milk and salt until well blended. In non stick 12 inch skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium high heat. Dip 4 bread slices, one at a time, in beaten egg mixture to coat both sides well. Place in skillet and cook until browned, about 4 minutes per side. Transfer to cookie sheet. Keep warm in a 200 degree F oven. Repeat with remaining 2 tablespoons butter and remaining 4 bread slices. Serve hot with butter, maple syrup or honey.
