Slow Cooker Beef Stew With Beer

Recipe Description
Beer is the liquid base for this stew recipe. I prefer using a stout variety, as the flavor is richer and marries well with the beef.

2 Pound(lb)  beef stew meat, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 Pound(lb)  red potatoes, diced
12 Ounce(oz)  stout style beer
1 Pound(lb)  frozen petite pearl onions, loosely packed
1 Pound(lb)  carrots, loosely packed, sliced crinkle cut
1 Package(pk)  au jus gravy mix
2 Tablespoon(T)  tomato paste
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  black pepper, ground


In a 5 quart slow cooker, stir together beef stew meat, potatoes, carrots, onions, beer, gravy mix, tomato paste and pepper, until thoroughly combined. Cover and cook on low heat setting for 8 to 10 hours.
