Serves Tool

Serves To:USMetric
1 1/2 Cup(c)  semisweet chocolate chips
2 Teaspoon(t)  pure vanilla extract
2 Cup(c)  bananas, mashed
4   large eggs, at room temperature
2 1/4 Cup(c)  sugar
1 Cup(c)  unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/2 Cup(c)  sour cream, at room temperature
2 Teaspoon(t)  baking soda
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  salt
3 Cup(c)  all purpose flour

Preheat the oven to 350° F. Grease a 13 by 9 inch baking pan. Sift the flour and the salt together into a bowl, and set it aside. Combine the baking soda and sour cream in another bowl. Stir well, and allow to stand for 5 minutes. Cream the butter and sugar with an electric mixer on medium high speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Reduce the speed to medium and blend in the eggs, one at a time, blending well and scraping the bowl after each addition. Reduce the speed to low and add the flour mixture in three additions alternating with the sour cream mixture in two additions, beginning and ending with the flour. Blend in the mashed bananas, followed by the vanilla. Stir in the chocolate chips. Scrape the batter into the prepared baking pan, and bake on the center oven rack until the cake springs back when touched and a cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean, 45 to 55 minutes. Allow the cake to cool in the pan set on a wire rack.
